IN LOVE. TREMENDOUSLY. That is all.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into

Album picked on Jun 13, 2008 | LINK Button_pickthis

Um, pretty sure I *do* know what I'm getting myself into when I listen to your tunes: a lotta music sex and maybe some groping.

Calvin Harris I Created Disco

Album picked on Apr 25, 2008 by 5 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

Five reasons I love Calvin Harris: 1) he has a hilarious YouTube channel, 2) we're the same age and he has a song about how he loves the 80s, which I'm down for, 3) he knows what the fuck he's doing, 4) he's Scottish, 5) he's super attractive. Man. Having rock star crushes sometimes sucks...

Jens Lekman Night Falls Over Kortedala

Album picked on Apr 10, 2008 by 4 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

Swedish, cute, funny, a master lyricist, and shares my same name. I was already won over from the get-go.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Album picked on Jan 10, 2008 by 1 other person Button_pickthis

What a stunning album. One of the best things about listening to write my review was trying to determine if my own definitions were the same as the song titles; I'd try to match what I'd imagine the song was to what it ended up sounding like, which really meant I was attempting to see if me and Nick Cave think alike.

Sia Some People Have Real Problems

Album picked on Jan 09, 2008 | LINK Button_pickthis

I first heard of Sia when she did guest vocals for a one Zero 7 when they were in existence. I kept tabs on her and I honestly think she's gonna get some fucking creds on this album - "Day Too Soon" has all the elements of making it radio friendly but still keeping true to her rough, warbling rawr, and "I Go To Sleep" makes me want to do naughty and romantic things simultaneously; it exudes a sexy, sad romantic voice full of regret and nostalgia. GET THIS NOW.

Radiohead In Rainbows

Phenomenal. That's it.

Beirut The Flying Club Cup

Album picked on Sep 28, 2007 by 4 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

I'm not even halfway through listening to this album right this minute (12:08 PM, Fri Sept. 28 2007) and already I am falling in love...

Nicest guy with the baby blues...

Interpol Our Love To Admire

Album picked on Sep 10, 2007 by 16 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

Hands down, one of my top 3 album of this year. Interpol for me has always been one of those bands I've associated with transition throughout my life; they have provided the soundtrack to some of the most pivotal and inane moments of my history. At this exact moment in time, I have not one bad thing to say about this record.

John Vanderslice Pixel Revolt

Album picked on May 03, 2007 | LINK Button_pickthis

The man is super nice, super talented, and super awesome. Reason enough to like his musics, me thinks.

Annuals Be He Me

These kids are gonna be HUGE this year. And they're so nice too! Bonus.

Margot &The Nuclear So and So's The Dust of Retreat

Album picked on Dec 07, 2006 Button_pickthis

Why I didn't listen to this record and put it on my picks when it was in my hands EIGHT months ago is beyond me. Seriously, Richard Edwards' voice makes me want to cry and make out with him at the same time. Such a phemonenal album and full of lyrical wit, soft brass, and woozy strings. I love it.

The Album Leaf Into the Blue

Album picked on Nov 09, 2006 Button_pickthis

So, this record is a little bittersweet because my ex-boyfriend and I discovered these darlings when they opened for Pinback. Though me and him had a fairly messy break-up, I am refusing to let him keep this gem from our split settlement, and have fallen in love over the past two years with this band time and time again. The blips, the subtle synth, the overwhelming stargazing feeling I get when I listen to the arrangement - it's one of my top 10 of this year.

CSS Cansei De Ser Sexy

Album picked on Aug 21, 2006 by 23 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

Where to start - the fact that the lead singer is named Lovefoxx, that all of their album makes me want to get naked and dance, or that the time I saw them last week, each member crowd surfed at least twice and then some. These girls (and the dude) know how to PARTY.

Junior Boys So This is Goodbye

Album picked on Aug 21, 2006 by 13 other people Button_pickthis

I fell in love with this album while I was making my favorite dinner - fetuccine alfredo and Italian sausage - one of my favorite albums this year as a result. Air + Massive Attack + a little Editors and softer Audio Bullys = a good, solid CD full of electronica and trip-hop.

Thom Yorke The Eraser

Album picked on Aug 10, 2006 by 26 other people | LINK Button_pickthis

My sleepy-time, crying-time, and dancing-time record. Phew.

The Velvet Teen Cum Laude

Album picked on Aug 10, 2006 by 1 other person | LINK Button_pickthis

Seriously, these kids surprise and strengthen my belief in the Bay Area music scene time and time again.
