The Qemists Featuring Mike Patton – “Lost Weekend”

theqemists

We just got the debut LP from The Qemists — an outfit that meshes the high-energy of drum ‘n’ bass and rock with a wide-ranging set of sounds including (but not limited to) dancehall, metal, electro, grime and hip-hop — and while we’re still trying to figure out if this will be a considered a critical success or a Prodigy rip-off, we just can’t stop playing it.

The stellarly produced Join The Q will be released by Ninja Tune (on 4LP wax no less!) February 17 and features — among others — guest spots by Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and one Mike Patton. This adds to laundry list of names this engineering trio has worked with, that already includes Massive Attack, Bjork, Kool Keith, Coldcut, Basement Jaxx and Lady Sovereign (among others).

And since we started the rumor that a reunited Faith No More would be playing Coachella, only to be trumped by the news yesterday that Mike will be playing alongside Rahzel instead, we decided to post the single he guests on. See, it all comes full circle.
