Calvin Harris – “I’m Not Alone”

calvinharris

Upon first listen Calvin Harris‘ voice, a picture of a tall, thin, 25-year-old with a boy-like smile is probably the last image that would come rushing into your head, but don’t let his deep, dance-tronic voice fool you on his new track “I’m Not Alone”.

Harris is a bright-eyed, Scot who has been making music since the age of 15, in his home town of Dumfries and was signed to Sony BMG in 2006, after he was discovered on MySpace. He then went on to make his first album I Created Disco in 2007 — quite the lofty title for such a young musician. But Harris has been making his mark on the UK dance circuit ever since, managing to  work with big name pop artists like Kylie Minogue.

“I’m Not Alone”, is no Minogue track, but Harris will either make you want to bust out your glow sticks — and possibly a move — if you can get down with the young singers sultry vocals laid over trance inducing dance beats. Or he’ll make your ears swarm with confusion as you listen and wonder why said vocals are accompanying dance beats.
