They’re barely legal, but Radical Sons are no garage band rookie-hopefuls. The Midwestern foursome’s sound could be mistaken as an early Strokes b-side, with the raw guitar and drums, mixed with the obvious Velvet Underground-inspired vocal tones, and we have an exclusive listen of their new track “I’m So Sick of the 21st Century”.

Radical Sons formed when members Nick Risler and Ben Goldstein decided to pick up instruments after listening to countless Television and Velvet Underground records after school, and sneaking into Chuck Berry gigs at Blueberry Hill, in their hometown of St. Louis. The two kids got together with Geoffrey Phillips and Patrick Shields, and eventually brought about the birth of Radical Sons.

Now, the band is getting ready to release their newest EP, Throwing Knives, on the Secretly Canadian imprint St. Ives on June 23. “I’m So Sick of the 21st Century” is just a sample of what Radical Sons will be delivering on the new EP, but don’t let their young age deceive you. The band’s sound is already full, yet it still leaves room for maturation with time.
