Hear New Megafaun: “Volunteers”

You’d be hard-pressed to find a band right now making more casually penetrating, haunting American roots music than Megafaun. The Carolina-via-Wisconsin outfit is preparing to release their Heretofore, a full-length effort that would be even harder-pressed to eclipse the beauty of Gather, Form & Fly, last year’s criminally slept-on LP of theirs. But judging by the sweet, banjo-fied breeze of “Volunteers”, they’ve done it. It’s a song that’ll knock you down quietly, whether your brace yourself or not. (via MBV)
