Primal Scream @ Webster Hall | NYC

Primal Scream

What a weird night it turned out to be. First I went to see Emiliana Torrini perform at her Tripwire presented show, leaving after her set to catch Primal Scream play at Webster Hall. The weird part? I just saw two headlining performances and it wasn’t even 10:30 p.m.

The fact that both were “early” shows left me prematurely tired and now looking for somewhere to go and tell people that I just witnessed Primal Scream’s first New York performance in over a decade. But I guess this is as good a forum as any.

Primal scream’s fist ny show in over a decade?
I guess you aren’t counting the shows they actually did play in nyc in the last 10 years?
They played with the kills opening in 2004 at irving plaza. For the encore both bands covered the stooges together.

Primal Scream’s a very good performance.

  3. Gurple Says:

Yes, I suppose I imagined seeing them at Irving Plaza in support of the Evil Heat album in 2004. I suppose this is what you get from a marketing company trying to pass themselves off as legit. You couldn’t get one of the Fader dudes to write a proper review, or were they all out buying new flourescent hoodies?
