these pics are poster-worthy… photo of trey facing crowd under green light (w/ orange candles is sweet. would love to track down photographer to get a high-res version of this one. nice job – wish i was there!
a-m-a-z-i-n-g. love how intimate these pics are. and the last one looks beyond professional. i can’t even put into words how it was captured. so cool. brilliant.
I am SUPER impressed with the shots. I was there, and these make the show look even better than it was (which was amazing, by the way). Plus, I love the variety of subjects – shows are about more than just when the band’s playing, you know? I took about a thousand pictures, and all of them suck. Can I have yours instead?
These pictures really capture the energy of that show, which was incredible. The light show is something that doesn’t always translate on film, but these pics nailed it.
Aw man, these are sweet! Great blend of intimate shots and arena-rocking awesomeness. The one 5 up from the bottom looks like the mothership taking off!
The MSG shows put my total number of 2009 Phish shows at 12. These are definitely the best and most accurate picts to capture the vibe and the general awesomeness of ‘09 Phish. Nice work!!
A lot of Pics of white guys.Nonetheless, great shots. I Don’t know much about the band Phish, but the pics make me want to see one of their concerts. What brand of camera was used?
Well done, Mr. DeSilvis. So much better than most of the slop I see out there. It is clear that each shot was well-conceived and professionally captured.
Although I think photography in essence is a lower art form (to capture something real in a square as opposed to creation..eh). There are exceptions and these are nice
I love seeing people outside the show as well as the crowd inside. Gives the feeling of the whole experience.
The photos of the concert really capture the energy of the night… great stuff!
You captured the entirety of the experience. Amazing shots! I don’t need to worry about trying to explain the evening to people who have never been to MSG to see the band thanks to your work.
Nice pics Mr. Camera-in-the-show-photo-man. I especially like the capture of the many characters who attend. Did you lose some weight runnin’ around MSG for the different angles?
Photography could be looked at at easy.
In today’s world with easy camera’s and displaying options far too many people call themselves photo-op-capturer-for-semi-official-use professional amateurs.
On one hand it is awesome we can view so much creativity at any time of our choosing and disposal.
on the other it diminishes Ansel Adams and the like.
I almost went so far as to say here and compare that with exceptions like Ansel Adams etc (and WIKIpedia some pioneering photographers) but i felt it might of been too much
Awesome pics! The artist really captured the experience. I wonder if DeSilvis is a fan of the band or just a genius. I can’t get over the emotion and and energy he captured.
Didn’t get in Thursday but went Friday. Shot of Bearded dude with dreds among new yorkers flying past captures exactly what it was like outside MSG that night. Contrast of phish fans and new yorkers rushing past summed up the experience. Thanks cause I couldn’t really remember much.
Sweet pics!!! Makes me jealous because they never come down where I live. Totally captured the energy and vibe of the shows. Man I need to find a way to get to a show. Keep the pics coming!!!!
These pictures truly capture what it’s like to be at one of their shows. Chris DeSilvis is an amazing fan and brings the shows to your computer screen as if you were there with him. If you get a chance to get to know Byrd like I do, you will realize that he is probably one of the most passionate phans the band has ever had. These pictures capture what he is thinking, feeling and seeing at the time of freeze frame. Thanks Chris!
Those pics really captured the energy of the show. For a (too) brief moment I found myself reliving the many great memories I’ve had seeing Phish. Can’t wait to see more in the future!
Very creative pictures! They totally encompass the energy of the crowd and the band. Thanks for the great memories. Hopefully there will be more to come.

We’re not sure Fela Kuti’s epic story should be told in any other format besides the musical, and we don’t even like musicals! That said, it just so happens we’re giving away two tickets to see the show for zero dollars. All you need to do is leave us a haiku in the comments before [...]
