Sony dropped a huge bomb to little kids, professional atheletes, and over grown businessmen everywhere Thursday stating that they will only deliver half the number of Playstation 2 video game consoles than originally planned. According the the Associated Press, Sony plans on”catching up” on shipments before the holiday season. Sony can only ship 500,000 consoles by October 26 (North American Debut) instead of the 1 million units initially planned.
Many fingers are being pointed for the delay. One theory is that Lara Kroft is a premadonna and that Sony had a hard time getting her to “calm down”. Another theory is that Sonic The Hedge Hog went bonkers inside the shipping warehouse, devouring half of the consoles in a drunken binge. Or some people blame a legit componant shortage to be the reason for the delay. Sony believes this short term delay will not effect availability for the holiday season, and anticipate 1.3 million units in supply.
