Stupid, stupid, stupid… the last thing you want to do if youíre a modern rock band trying to make your mark is make enemies with the most influential station in the format. Címon people, that’s Rock Band 101. But apparently, no one mentioned it to Orgy who have pissed off uber-alt station KROQ in Los Angeles. The incident in question occurred at KROQ’s annual Halloween party at the Hollywood Athletic Club last Saturday night, at which Orgy performed. According to Money, the sports announcer on KROQ’s “Kevin & Bean” morning show, it all started when two men (allegedly a band member and a bodyguard) tried cutting in the long line for the men’s room.
Money, not having any of it, yelled at the guys to be cool and stand in line like everyone else, which angered the line-breaking offenders. When Money got out of the bathroom stall, one of the men smashed him in the head with a bottle, resulting in an ambulance trip to the hospital. So now, all the Los Angeles commuters are hearing the words, “Fuck him. Fuck the band. Fuck Orgy. Theyíre our enemies. They are banned from the Kevin & Bean show.” Ouch. The DJs attempted to get in touch with the band’s management to get the names of the guys and an apology, but nobody’s talking about the incident yet.
