Semi Sued kind of life

Kevin Cadogan (former member of San Francisco’s Third Eye Blind) is suing his former band for giving him the boot claiming they conspired to kick him out.
Cadogan who played guitar for the alt rock band says he was promised 50 percent ownership of
the band in 1993. With the success of the band after their two Elektra albums (and 7 years later) the lawsuit claims all the shares went to band founder Stephan Jenkins. The two albums which Third Eye Blind produced went multi platinum sparking the number one single”Semi Charmed Kind of Life”.

Cadogan claims he co-wrote 14 of the songs on both albums.
Cadogan, who was voted songwriter of the year at the 1999 and 2000 California Music Awards, was told to step off from the rest of the band in January of 2000. Cadogan currently is rocking out with his new band named Cousin Kevin.

The suits for Third Eye Blind had this to tell us, “My clients do not believe there is any validity to any of Mr. Cadogan’s
claims,” said Stephen Kroft, a Los Angeles attorney representing the
band.
