Bjork Scoops Another Award For Dancer In The Dark

Bjork, the angelic pixie from Iceland, was awarded the best actress award at this year’s European Film Awards. The award, which is the equivalent to our Oscar, was bestowed on to the actress for her spectacular performance in Lars Von Trier’s Dancer In The Dark. Bjork’s role in the digitally charged musical, marked her first time on the silver screen, and due to the unspeakable evil within the film’s content, she has made public statements that she will never act again.

In addition to the European Film Award, the film has also received critical acclaim by picking up two Palme DíOrís and an enormous standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival (where Bjork also won the best actress award). Bjork beat off competition from Julie Walters who starred in British hit movie Billy Elliot .
