Can’t the Roses just get along?

Ex-Stone Roses bassist, and current Primal Scream member, Mani, drew a line in the sand the other day and publically said what we’ve all been thinking for years ñ that the original Stone Roses line-up should reform and get back to what they do best. He revealed that they’ve been offered obscene amounts of money to do just that, but the band would never do it only for the money and (we’ll paraphrase) “prostitute ourselves that wayÖblah, blah, blah, integrity, blah, blah, blah, should do it for the right reasons, blah, blah, blah” Öjust get back together already and give the money to friggin’ charity (perhaps the Tripwire foundation?)!?!

Mani continued “I’d love to reform to do the summer festivals and give all these people a chance to actually see us and see us doing it well. For me it finished in such a smelly and horrible way that I’d like to just do something to close the book once and for all properly and then I’d be happy.” There have been no public responses from the other ex-members yet. And, of course, any reunion would involve some sort of communication between lead Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire, and their ongoing feud could put a crimp in that whole speaking thing. But we can still dream of a world where the Stone Roses are together. Until then, take refuge in the new “Stone Roses: The Remixes” CD, just out on Silvertone Records.
