John Frusciante Spikes Solo Vein

While the Red Hot Chili Peppers score some downtime, coming off of their amazing Californication run, guitarist John Frusciante will release his third solo album, To Record Only Water For Ten Days, on February 13. Frusciante created this entire record himself ñ words, music, and self-production. The album combines Frusciante favorite ’80s New Wave influences with some of his favorite legendary songwriters.

“I programmed the drums myself and played synthesizers and guitar and sing,” Frusciante explained. “It’s partly inspired by the songwriters who I love, like Lou Reed, David Bowie, and Syd Barrett, but instrumentation-wise, since I wanted to do it all myself, it’s kind of inspired by Depeche Mode and New Order.” Warner Bros. will release To Record Only Water For Ten Days on February 13.
