Coldplay Start Work on Parachutes Follow-up

Coldplay, one of Britain’s latest it bands, is already writing and demo-ing new material on the road for its next album. They are currently touring in support of their critically-lauded release, “Parachutes.” The band plans to start recording this fall and have the new album ready for a summer 2002 release. Drummer Will Champion, elaborates, “We’ve got two songs ['Animals,' In My Place'] that are pretty much finished,” he says, “and they’re pretty much our favorite songs at the moment.”


The band is hoping to re-enlist Ken Nelson to produce the new effort, he also produced “Parachutes,” and that turned out pretty darn well. “Parachutes” is just now taking off stateside and Coldplay is currently playing selected cities around the U.S.
