Reznor Slithers Back Onto Scene

Trent Reznor in da house! The mercurial mastermind behind Nine Inch
Nails is now working on a side project, creepily named Tapeworm. The new
act will also feature guitarist Danny Lohner and programmer/remixer Charlie
Clouser, and on one track, none other than Maynard James Keenan of
Tool and A Perfect Circle. The collaboration, entitled “Vacant” is a
mainstay in live A Perfect Circle shows, a fact that causes Reznor to
bristle. Although the track, which features Reznor on backing vocals, was written
and recorded in 1999, Reznor stated, “I have to admit I find it mildly irritating for
‘Vacant’ to debut in this fashion before feeling it has been properly realized.”
MEOW!

The Tapeworm album is due to surface in the fall, but is most likely not due to be
the only Reznor sighting of the year. The Nine Inch Nails website is
claiming that recording has begun on a new album and that an album’s worth of demos
are already completed.
