U2 Announce Homecoming Show in Ireland

The first date of the European leg of U2’s “Elevation” Tour promises to be an Irish extravaganza. The band has confirmed their homecoming show at Slane Castle in County Meath August 25th. It marks the twentieth anniversary of the U2’s only previous appearance at the historic venue when they supported fellow Irish legends Thin Lizzy. Also playing the full-day event are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Kelis, JJ72, and Relish. Drummer Larry Mullen is quoted as saying, “We’ve waited a long time to do this. It’s going to be a beautiful day” (oh, Larry, leave the talkin’ to Bono).
