Wednesday Express – Local H & Josh Homme Together, Stereo MC’s Return

Chicago’s best Nirvana-impersonating duo, Local H are back on the scene and
have roped in a bit of help for their new album. The band have enlisted Queens of the Stone
Age frontman Josh Homme for a tour of collaborative duty and the product of this
marriage, a track called “Rock & Roll Professionals” will appear on the pending Local
H release. Although nameless, the band’s fourth album is set to hit shelves at the end of the
summer.

“I’m gonna get myself, I’m gonna get myself, I’m gonna get myself connected…” Remember that
blast from the past? Well, the Stereo MC’s have awakened from their 9 year slumber
and are prepared to take on the world again. After lying dormant since 1992’s Connected
the band “lost the plot a bit and had living issues we had to deal with,” said one half of the
MC’s, Nick “The Head” Hallam. Along with frontman Rob Birch, the
dance-rap-groove collective have FINALLY recorded their follow up, Deep Down &
Dirty,
which is also the name of the first single. The album is due out June 12, with a US
tour commencing the same day, in New York City, with other dates soon to follow.
