UK rock stars and all-around damn fine band, Skunk Anansie, have nevertheless decided to go their separate ways after seven years together.
The official word is that each member wanted to focus on various solo careers, but you can be sure that they meant frontwoman Skin (a modelesque, bald, black, militant lesbian)ówho, naturally, gets all the attention anywayówas ready to move on and work on her career outside the band The split is apparently amicable, though, and “the band remain the best of friends.” Skin’s first solo offering is slated for release early in 2002.

They formed back in 1994 and since have released three
records, Paranoid & Sunburnt (1995), Stoosh
(1996) and Post Orgasmic Chill (1999).
