Sigur RÛs Signs To MCA For US

According to an unofficial fan website (www.sigur-ros.co.uk) the Icelandic band, Sigur RÛs, who are one of the hot bands-o’-the-moment overseas (and who have been predicted to climb the ole fame and prestige ladder here as well) have signed to MCA for the US side of distribution and promotion. The band has been courted by many major labels in the past several months. MCA inked a long-term licensing deal with Fat Cat, Sigur RÛs’ old label home, and will re-issue their sophomore release, ¡gÊtis Byrjunas in the states.


The wider release on May 1st will coincide with the band’s first live U.S.
appearance at the Coachella Festival in California on April 28th. After the Coachella festival, Sigur RÛs will complete five other
shows in North America before heading home. The dates are as follows:

04-28 Indio, CA – Coachella Music & Arts Festival

05-01 Los Angeles, CA – John Anson Ford Theater

05-02 San Francisco, CA ñ Fillmore

05-04 Toronto, ON – Palais Royale

05-06 Chicago, IL – Park West

05-08 New York, NY – Angel Orensanz Center
