Monday Express – Nina Cardigan goes solo; Linkin Park Writing on Road

Cardigans frontwoman and sex pixie Nina Persson has announced plans to
unleash a solo album on the unsuspecting public. She will be recording under the name
Camp and the album is rumored to be ever-so-wittily called A Camp. The first
single is believed to be a track entitled “I Can Buy You.” While the Cardigans have not
disbanded, they are believed to be taking a hiatus, especially as Persson has moved to
the States and is now living in upstate New York, where this project was recorded.

When a band records an album you think seclusion, diligence and 24 hour songwriting
marathons. However, for LA emo-metal kids Linkin Park it’s gonna be groupies,
substance binges and parties! Well, that might not be completely true, but the band has stated
that they will write their next album while on the road this summer for Ozzfest. The band will
be working on the follow up to Hybrid Theory, whose single “One Step Closer” is still in
the top 10 of Billboard’s Modern Rock chart and the successor, “Crawling” is rapidly ascending
up the charts as well. Ozzfest starts in Chicago on June 8 and wraps up on August 12 in Holmdel, NJ.
