Queens Of The Stone Age Joined By Ex-Screaming Tree-er

Queens of the Stone Age have brought on ex-Screaming Tree vocalist Mark Lanegan for their forthcoming UK tour, and a couple US dates. It’s unclear exactly what role he will play in the band, but most likely, it will have something to do with providing vocals (or perhaps the oft overlooked chicken shake) for several songs in the set. Lanegan is a good friend of QOTSA guitarist Josh Homme, and provided vocals on two of the songs on the band’s record, Rated R, however, he has not joined the group. QOTSA manager, Greg Werckman, told Allstar News that “he’s just a featured guest, and he hasn’t joined Queens.”

The Queens dates (with Lanegan) are as follows:

May 23-24 Los Angeles El Rey Theater

June 2 Pinkpop Festival (Holland)

June 5 Norwich UEA (UK)

June 6 Folkestone Leas Cliffe Hall (UK)

June 7 Newport Theatre (UK)

June 8 Milton Keynes Bowl (UK)

June 10 Birmingham Academy (UK)

June 11 Portsmouth Guilghall (UK)

June 12 Manchester Academy (UK)

June 13 London Brixton Academy (UK)

June 24 Neuhausen Southside Festival (UK)
