Beta Band Unrelease Next Single

The Beta Band have decided to withdraw its comeback single “Squares,” at least in the UK, where a similar-sounding song by another band looks like it’ll become a huge hit first. I Monster has released a single, “Daydream in Blue,” sampling the same song that The Beta Band sampled for “Squares” the ’60s easy-listening tune “Daydream” by Hunter Kallman Choir, which incidentally, was also sampled by Portishead for their song “Sour Times.” The I Monster song has been getting increased radio airplay on Radio 1, and has been put in one of the highest rotation slots through May the Beta Band single was to be released in early June. It’s not clear whether they will re-record “Squares” or choose another single for release.
