Pedro the Lion Finishing Up New Album

According to a press release from the band’s promotion company, the spiritual indie-rock group, Pedro the Lion, is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to 2000’s Winners Never Quit. The new album, entitled Control, is slated for release on August 28th on the Jade Tree record label. Pedro the Lion is basically songwriter David Bazan, who kept the band name for himself (and a backing band) after realizing he didn’t much need the original members. He’s since put out two full-lengths and three EPs under the Lion name, and spent much of the past several months opening up for Low. For more info on the release, check out www.pedrothelion.com.
