Alanis Morissette, not wanting to go on her overseas tour all rusty, is apparently gonna polish up her stage stuff on American guinea pigs at 2 intimate Los Angeles gigs just announced. According to her publicist, the shows, at the 700-capacity El Rey Theater on May 25 and 26, will serve as a warm-up for a six-week trek that kicks off June 1 at the Rock Am Ring Festival in Germany, and will include material that may turn up on her next record, which as previously reported, may turn up on a record label other than Maverick. Tickets for the L.A. gigs will go on sale Sunday (May 13) on Morissette’s official website, alanismorissette.com.
