When Chicago’s indie rock sweethearts Braid called it quits the kids in the scene knew that the fellas would be resurrected somehow…in some form. Hey Mercedes (featuring three members formerly of Braid) are trapped in Cannon Falls Minnesota’s Pacaderm studios, where they are recording their debut full length for the rapidly growing Vagrant label. Every Night Fire Works, will be released this July under the tutelage and care of producer J Robbins (Burning Airlines, Promise Ring, Actionslacks). The 4 piece released an EP earlier this year on Polyvinyl, and will tag along on the Vagrant America Tour 2001. Those dates will be announced soon.
