Mos Def to Fred Durst: “You Suck”

Well, somebody had to say it, it might as well have been hip-hop extraordinaire Mos Def. The rapper recently lashed out at Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, saying that the red-hatted one “sucks” and that “he so badly wants to count in the ghetto but he can’t because he can’t rhyme.” Ouch. The two artists have been trading barbs back and forth ever since Mos Def told Billboard mag very pointedly, “‘In my estimation, there’s a lot of rock bands sort of fiddling with hip-hop and a lot of hip-hop
bands sort of fiddling with rock. I don’t want to fiddle, you know?”

He continued, “I mean, I listen to Black Sabbath and Bad Brains and, you know Fugazi and Pantera. I’m looking for something that is rocking along those lines, that’s just got some teeth to it. I don’t want to do something that’s sugary or glamorous.” We say, let’s just settle this once and for all with a rap-off duel between the two what? Fred? Hey, where ya going?
