STP Take It To The Next Level

Stone Temple Pilots are taking it to the next level in their new video, and by “taking it to the next level,” we mean, takin’ it to outer space. The video is for “Days of the Week,” which is the first single off their upcoming album, Shangri-La Dee Da, dropping June 19. The band sport red astronaut suits for the video, in which they play door-to-door salesmen who escape their monotonous lives by blasting into space and rocking out as only STP can on an unidentified planet. The “Days of the Week” clip was directed by Kevin Kerslake (who also did STP’s “Interstate Love Song” and “Vasoline” videos). The single goes to radio this week.

In other STP news, the band has announced eight dates for its first European tour in over six years on its website, www.stonetemplepilots.com. No U.S. dates have been announced other than their headlining slot at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, on August 4. But the band is still eyeing a fall run on Family Values, pending how the rest of the lineup shapes up.
