RIP: Sunny Day Real Estate

The beloved veterans of whatever they were veterans of, Sunny Day Real Estate, have once again decided to call it the proverbial day and go their separate ways. The band’s website, www.sunnydayrealestate.net, reports that “the band was met with a string of bad luck, including troubles with management companies.” Also cited was the shake-up due to the ousting of their label, Time Bomb, from parent company, Arista. Apparently, all the stress affected the recording process (they were working on a new release, The Rising Tide), and the band decided to call it quits. According to the website, guitarist Dan Hoerner will save his material for a future project, while frontman Jeremy Enigk will start work on a second solo album.
