Cardigans Singer Prepares Side-Project Release

The Cardigans frontwoman Nina Persson is taking time off from her regular band and putting out a new album with a side-project, A Camp. The record, also called A Camp,is due to be released on Polydor Records in August, with the first single “I Can’t Buy You” going to UK radio at the same time. The record was recorded in NYC, and produced by Sparklehorse mastermind Mark Linkous. Persson explains the Cardigan detour – “As soon as I’ve finished this, we’re [Cardigans] going to do some new stuff. But A Camp is really refreshing and I feel if I can do this, then I can go back and be a better member.” The most likely difference between the two projects is that Persson now has brown hair.
