In a tragic turn of events (literally) J Mascis was forced to cancel his remaining European dates after he was involved in a bus crash in Sweden. Mascis was hospitalized with two broken vertebrae in his back after the bus he was riding in slid of the highway into a ditch at close to 70 mph. The event happened last night (Sunday June 17) when Mascis and crew were en route to the Hultsfred Festival in Germany. Mascis will return to the US immediately, and is currently in stable condition and walking with a cane. The rest of the members of the bus escaped with cuts and bruises. Somewhere Lou Barlow is laughing his ass off right now.
