Deftones’ Moreno Eyes Team Sleep Project

Since the Deftones’ sound has strayed from it’s aggressive crunch rock staple sound to a Depeche Mode / incoherent screeching noize outfit as of late, the members of the band have been keeping busy with their new and exciting side projects. Singer Chino Morenoís project called Team Sleep is close to completing itís debut album, which is being produced in Seattle by Terry Date, who also helmed all of the Deftones releases (Adrenaline, Around The Fur, White Pony). Maverick Recordings will release the Team Sleep record early next year tentatively titled The Kool Aid Party, which consists of Moreno, DJ Crook, and guitarist Todd Wilkenson. Fellow Deftones also make an appearance on the record, and rumor has it that former Smashing Pumpkins/Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur will lend her vocals to the record.
