Tenacious Dís higher than highly awaited self titled debut will finally see the light September 25 on Epic records. The Dust Brothers will produce comedic muse from actor Jack Black and partner in crime KG Kyle Gass. The duo got their start performing in short films on the notoriously humorous Mr. Show with Bob and David, before achieving their own cult status, thanks to downloadable tunes on Napster. The following special guests have lent their hands to this soon to be classic: Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Phish keyboardist Page McConnell, Vandals guitarist Warren Fitzgerald and Redd Kross bassist Steve McDonald.
“Playing live has always been special to Kyle and I,” Black said. “Now the fans can enjoy us in the privacy of their very own CD player.” Expect new joints from the band, as well as the classics like “Fuck Her Gently”, “Tribute”, and “Knock Your Socks Off”. Tenacious D recently ripped apart the HFStival in D.C., and plan to bring the acoustic noize to the road this fall.
