The Family Values Tour is slated to make a return after a one year hiatus. The traveling festival, started by
rap-metallers Korn, is rumored to feature Stone Temple Pilots, Staind, and
Linkin Park on the bill this year, with at least two more bands to be added, after featuring lineups of
Korn/Limp Bizkit/Orgy, etc. in 1998 and Limp
Bizkit/Staind/Filter/Crystal Method et. al. in 1999. The organizers are not yet
ready to confirm the lineup, but do say that the tour will take place in October and November.
New-on-the-scene UK indie guitar act Haven (who are featured on the next Cornerstone Player,
#24, so stay tuned) are set to record their debut record. They have been taken under the wing of none other
than Smiths guitar god Johnny Marr, who had previously stated his admiration for the up
and coming quartet. Marr is producing the album in his hometown of Manchester and is really excited
with the progress, as they have already recorded 7 songs and he doesn’t expect the entire process to exceed
4 weeks. The record will be preceded by a second single, “Beautiful Thing,” and a full UK tour, due to
start this week.
