The Beasties Announce Details For Tibetan Freedom Concert

Those ever-socially-conscious Beastie Boys have just announced details for this year’s Tibetan Freedom Concert, which will be held at Brockwell Park in London on September 15. Headliners include the Beasties themselves, UK favs Pulp, Joe Strummer, and possibly Robbie Williams (still unconfirmed) as well as many other acts still-to-be-confirmed. Beastie Adam Yauch revealed that they wanted to add heartthrob Williams to the event’s bill because he is “an artist with a fanbase who might not know so much about the situation in Tibet.” In other words, he’d bring in the young stupid people who love Robbie ’cause he’s got a nice ass and used to be in Take That. Yay for freedom. Attendees of the concert will also have access to an all-night dance party at Brixton academy with a DJ guest list that will be announced soon, along with the concert ticket details.
