Beastie Boys, Alanis, Moby Create NPP

The Beastie Boys, Alanis Morissette, and Moby have joined forces to form the New Power Project (absolutely no relation to Prince’s New Power Generation), which opposes “President” Dubya’s crappy energy policies. The project also includes artists Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Barenaked Ladies, the Dave Matthews Band, Trey Anastasio of Phish, and Tom Petty and the
Heartbreakers. Specifically in question is the Bush administration’s move towards increasing energy reserves by extending production of traditional fuels, such as drilling for oil. The Beastie Boys’ Mike D said in a statement that the currently proposed policies are “heading us back to a time when humanoids dragged their knuckles on the ground,” and that, “This is our world. If each person goes to the www.saveourenvironment.org web site right now and sends a message, we can stop this.” Check out the site now and help fight the MAN.
