Peter Buck Pleads Not Guilty To Air Rage

“Hey guys, remember when I was beating the shit out of you 30,000 feet up in the air that time?? Yeah, I was just joking…it was funny, right?” R.E.M.’s Peter Buck pleaded something like that (in official speak: “not guilty”) yesterday to assault and other charges stemming from an alleged air rage incident back in April. Buck made a brief appearance at Isleworth Crown Court in west London and was ordered to reappear for trial on Nov. 12. Specifically, he’s accused of assaulting two British Airways staff members, using threatening behavior, being drunk on board an aircraft and causing criminal damage during a flight from Seattle to London on April 21. He was heading overseas to help promote R.E.M.’s Reveal. Oh, cut him some slack people, it wasfunny…
