Mekka Tour Bagged ëTil Next Year

The Mekka Tour, one of the many electronic festivals scheduled for the summer, has been postponed just three days before the trek was supposed to kick off. As of now, theyíll give it another stab next summer. The tourówhich was to feature Paul Oakenfold, Crystal Method, BT and Roni Size, among othersóapparently was not organized in time to do proper promotion. According to a Mekka spokesperson, “Everyone on the team has put their hearts into making this happen, but when it came down to it, we just didn’t give ourselves enough time to put it together. While the concept’s been under development for over a year, the actual production and promotion of the tour started too late.” Mekka was also slotted to join with the Spitkicker Tourófeaturing De La Soul, Talib Kweli and Common among othersóand the fate of the hip hop tour has yet to be announced.
