Echo and the Bunnymen Record Live Album; Ian Plans Solo Record

Echo and the Bunnymen will record their first ever live album at Liverpool’s Institute of Performing Arts over two nights and will also use footage for a DVD release, according to frontman Ian McCulloch. He says the setlist will change over the two nights but their signature tunes such as “Lips Like Sugar,” “Seven Seas,” “The Killing Moon” and “The Cutter” will make the cut both nights. In related news, McCulloch is planning a solo record and says he’d like to work with Courtney Love(?!) and David Bowie, as well as the Fun Lovin’ Criminals (the Brits have an inexplicable soft spot for those throwaways). The Bunnymen currently have two new releases outóCrystal Days(a 4CD box set), and and album of new material entitled Flowers.
