UK’s Tibetan Freedom Concert Postponed

“Unexpected scheduling complications and logistical issues” have forced the U.K. edition of the Tibetan Freedom Concert (scheduled for Sept. 15 at London’s
Brockwell Park) to be postponed, according to organizers. The show was set to feature the first live performance in more than two years from event founders the Beastie Boys, as well as performances by Joe Strummer, Pulp, and Morcheeba. In a statement posted on the official web site, www.tibetanfreedomconcert.com, organizers disclosed, “We will take this time to continue our political work and to transfer the energy generated in the planning of the London event to an alternative event to be announced at a later date. We especially wish to extend our gratitude to all of those who worked so hard putting the event together and hope that everyone will keep the Tibetan people in their hearts and minds as we plan for
the future.”
