Tragedy Yet Again Befalls Charlatans UK

It’s official. The Charlatans have the WORST LUCK ON THE PLANET. Fresh off the heels
of their highly successful US promo tour, teasing their new album Wonderland, comes news that
keyboard player Tony Rogers has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Followers of the band
will know that previous keyboard player Rob Collins was killed in a car crash in 1996 that almost
caused the band’s dissolution. The Charlatans rebounded from that horrific occurrence and
dedicated the last album to Collins’ memory. The official word, according to The
Charlatans’ website is that “Tony is in a very, very positive frame of mind in respect of his
condition,
and has continued to work virtually unaffected. Our biggest problem is trying
to slow him down. The concept of ‘taking it easy’ is not exactly in the Tony
Rogers mindset! ” We here at the Tripwire have our thoughts with
Rogers and his family and wish him a speedy recovery.
