New Music From a Single Femme and Some Special Friends

Violent Femmes frontman Gordan Gano has been in the studio working on his first solo album. Hitting the Ground is due out in early 2002 and will be released via the New York Indie that first broke Moby, Instinct Records, Gano has called in every favor to recruit the likes of Lou Reed, PJ Harvey and They Might Be Giants. Gano apparently needed a break from his fellow Femmes after a period of great productivity. Since 1999 the band has released three albums: Rock, Viva Wisconsin (live), and last years Freak Magnet.
