Prince ñ New Album Available This Week

Butt cheek flaunting, name changing, musical genius, Prince, has announced that his latest album, The Rainbow Children, will be available as an Internet download on October 17. Prince, free to use his own name after reportedly fulfilling his obligation to Warner Bros. Records earlier this year, will offer the album only to members of his NPG Music Club. This restriction could have a severely negative impact on sales as the minimum membership fee is $7.77 a month. In April this year, Prince made a track from Rainbow entitled “The Work ñPt. 1″ available to users of Napster for free download.

The Rainbow Children was also aired in its entirety to Club members and other Prince fans at his Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis this past June, during a week-long gala event titled Prince: A Celebration. In his effort to rid the world of record conglomerates, it seems Prince has come up with new and different ways to get his fans to jump through hoops just to hear his music.
