Following in the footsteps of such legendary groups as the Doors, Zeppelin, and the Who, Iggy and the Stooges are planning to release an album of lost tracks and rarities. Usually a collection of stuff even die-hard fans have a hard time appreciating, these releases almost always contain music that was purposely left off of classic albums, and for good reason. Iggy Pop and Bomp Records sifted through old, dusty tapes to find three songs that never made it onto albums (”Wild Love,” “I Came From Nowhere” and “Old King Live Forever”) and a number of cover songs the band worked out during their early jam sessions. Covers include Creamís “Iím So Glad,” Bo Diddleyís “Iím A Man” and Dylanís “Ballad of Hollis Brown.” Bomp Records claims to have kept this material in their vaults, unmarked, for the past twenty years, probably because someone twenty years ago was trying to do us all a favor. The album, entitled Wild Love, will hit the shelves on October 23.
