Rancid and NOFX Split Up

The split record series has become a huge phenomenon in the independent record industry. BYO Records, the Los Angeles punk label that has been spewing out quality punk rock for nearly 20 years, have inked two heavy hitters for the third volume of their BYO Records’ Split Series. Rancid and NOFX will do justice to six of the other outfit’s tunes for the forthcoming disc. NOFX are currently in the studio and Rancid put the covers on in November. Both bands are keeping their song choices secret, although the Tripwire would like to hear Rancid’s version of “Together in the Sand” or “Bob” while NOFX can tackle “Radio” or “Hyena” or maybe even “Bloodclot”. Rancid will also donate another “secret” song to the tribute album for Joey Ramone. There are currently no release dates for either record.
