Saul Williams – the Mind, the Words, the Album

Amethyst Rock Star, the highly anticipated album from the prolific man of words Saul Williams, was released yesterday on American Recordings. Williams enlisted some heavy hitters to help out with the album which is creating a pulsating spark throught the industry and beyond. Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) provided drums, and a vocal sample of Zach de la Rocha was used on the single “Om Nia Merican”. Producing legend and co-founder of Def Jam, Rick Rubin, lent his producing knowledge to this rising all-star’s mindblowing new album. Saul will perform alongside the Beastie Boys, The Strokes, and others in NYC on October 28 for the “New Yorkers Against Violence” benefit concert.
