The soundtrack for the new film I Am Sam, starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer, will be blessed with the sounds of Eddie Vedder, Nick Cave, Black Crowes, Stereophonics, Rufus Wainwright and Paul Westerberg, who have covered Beatles songs for the album. Penn stars as a mentally retarded man who figts for the custody of his daughter. Penn’s character is obsessed with all things Beatles, as his apartment is draped with John Lennon posters, and his daughter is even named Lucy (after “Lucy In The Sky With
Diamonds”) which is covered by
The Black Crowes in the film. The movie will be released December 28 and looks to be a winner.
