The Cure Slip Into Disintegration, Smith Flies Solo

The legendary frontman of The Cure, Robert Smith has been trying to complete a solo album for over 15 years, and fans of the moody, mascara based band will finally get to hear the new sounds in the new year…we hope. Smith was forced to put his solo dreams on hold to work on The Cureís recently released Greatest Hits, which includes two new songs in addition to acoustic versions of the group’s sacred treasures. The extra work meant extended studio and promotion time for the band and their music, forcing Smith to spend some quality time alone to write the new material. Now, with the completion of all of those pesky Cure commitments, Smith has once again set his sights on recording his first solo album. The as-yet-untitled record probably wonít be available until January or February of next year.
