Tuesday Express-Wilco Move On To Nonesuch; Flaming Lips Ready June Release

Alt-country faves Wilco have parted ways with Reprise Records and have moved on
to Nonesuch, who will release their upcoming fourth album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
Reprise passed on the album, as it deviated greatly from the alt-country sound the band had
cultivated on its previous three records, moving on in an experimental pop direction.
Nonesuch, home to the Buena Vista Social Club albums, as well as Steve
Reich and Emmylou Harris, however, had no such reservations and will release
the album in April 2002.

Speaking of experimental pop acts, The Flaming Lips are jumping back into the fray with an album that is due to hit shelves in June of 2002. 12 songs have been recorded, for the currently nameless work in progress, and include such songs as “If I Go Mad”, “All We Have Is Now”, and “Ego Trippin’” amongst others. Unlike Wilco, however, the band is still with their label, in this case, Warner Brothers. At least at press time.
