Bianca Halstead, a.k.a. Bianca Butthole, frontwoman of the punk band Betty Blowtorch, was killed over the weekend in an auto accident on Interstate 10 outside of New Orleans. Halstead was a passenger in a Corvette that was reportedly traveling in excess of 100mph when it spun out of control and into oncoming traffic. The driver of the car, a man named William MacAllister, was taken to a local hospital. Police believe that alcohol was a major factor in the accident. Betty Blowtorch had played a show at the New Orleans club Howliní Wolf the Friday before as part of the bands tour with Nashville Pussy.
