Monday Express-Bowie Starts New Label, Big Country Frontman Passes Away

Pop icon David Bowie, who has more often than not been ahead of the curve, set off
on his now-familiar trailblazing ways by quitting his record label. The chameleon with
two-colored eyes has cut his ties with Virgin Records, wanting more control over his
projects and efforts. ISO Records will now be his home, a label he just started up himself.
The initial release on the label is believed to be his next solo record, although there is an
unnamed band signed to the label, as well.

In much more sad news, the rock world lost another card-carrying member over the
weekend. Stuart Adamson, frontman for ’80s rock band Big Country was
found dead in a hotel room in Hawaii. His death was confirmed by Ian Grant, the
band’s manager. Adamson had been living in Nashville, but had been missing since
mid-November. In recent years, he had been waging a battle against alcholism, but it is
unknown at this time whether or not that played a part in his passing.
